carnivalThe Adrienne Arsht Center will host a free outdoor Caribbean festival from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, to celebrate the U.S. premiere of the hit reggae musical The Harder They Come.

During those two hours, guests at Carnival on the Plaza will be able to buy two tickets for the price of one to all performances of
The Harder They Come. Tickets must be purchased in person at the box office.

The festival will include live music, a junkanoo parade, face painting, mask making and other activities for kids, a fashion show, vendors, Caribbean snacks by Barton G and a special appearance of the show’s case. WZAB radio host Mike Andrews will emcee.

felakutiThe Rhythm Foundation’s free monthly Curated Listening event will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the News Lounge patio in the Soyka complex, 5580 NE 4 Court, Miami.

DJ Moses, described as “Miami’s main man for roots, Afrobeat, reggae and more roots,” will play his favorite tracks from Fela Kuti and sons of all nations.

The Rhythm Foundation hosts a free curated listening event the first Tuesday of every month. The next one is April 7.
