Family Day at The Underline takes place every third Saturday of the month from 2-4 p.m. and is free and open to the public but registration is required! The next event is on the Saturday, April 20.

Explore the art of book-making as artist Jose Luis García leads a workshop in creating handmade pocketbooks.
Explore the art of stick wrapping, a craft tradition with roots in many different cultures, alongside artist Sterling Rook. Using sticks, beeswax, beads, and yarn, learn about other cultural ways of celebrating growth and the changing of seasons.
Delve into the history and making of all kinds of patterns with artist Smita Sen. Using colored sand and stencils, you will bring famous patterns from around the world to life.
Create sculptures, including mini pots and planters, in celebration of Earth Day with artist Gerbi Tsesarskaia.
Brickell Backyard Urban Gym is located at Southwest First Ave. between Seventh and Eighth Streets in Brickell.
Bring your family for this special day of exploration and learning sponsored by The Kirk Foundation, with an exciting art program by Bakehouse Art Complex.
Getting there:
• Take the Metrorail to Brickell Metrorail Station, exit North and walk to the Urban Gym, located right after crossing SW 8th street. The Urban Gym is on SW 1st Ave between SW 8th and SW 7th streets.
• Walk or bike (bike trail on The Underline as SW 1st Avenue and SW 1st Street) to the Urban Gym, located right after the crossing to 8th street. The Urban Gym is on SW 1st Ave between SW 8th and SW 7th streets.
• If you drive, please use nearby public parking lots at Brickell City Centre and Mary Brickell Village. Then walk the Urban Gym on SW 1st Ave between SW 8th and SW 7th streets.
