Miamians, if you find yourself unexpectedly unemployed, permanently or indefinitely, there may be help: Some companies are still hiring during these uncertain times. Not all the jobs are temporary. Some companies are seeking permanent, full-time employees with benefits.

Taco Bell – The California-based, fast-food franchise expects to hire at least 30,000 employees this summer. The hiring process will include virtual and curbside interviews. Employees will be hired for existing positions at all levels in the restaurant, as well as newly created positions designed to keep the drive-through running smoothly, manage delivery, curside pickup and mobile app orders, and maintain sanitation and cleanliness practices. United States Postal Service – USPS is still working and, therefore, needs employees. Check out the job application FAQs and look at the different job categories. Looks like the Miami area has temporary jobs in the delivery/customer service department, among others. Requirements include: Must be 18 years old at the time of appointment or 16 years old with a high school diploma; a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of American Samoa or other U.S. territory; and able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment.
Publix – One of Miami’s most prominent grocery stores is hiring thousands of employees through March to fill positions in their stores and distribution centers to keep up with stocking demands. Click here to apply.
Frito-Lay – The PepsiCo. subsidiary that makes some of your favorite snacks is hiring for full-time, part-time and temporary positions involved in the making, moving and selling of products. The company’s brands include Doritos, Cheetos, SunChips, Funyuns and more. In Florida, municipalities with openings include: the town of Medley (Miami-Dade County), West Palm Beach, Orlando and Gainesville. Click here for more hiring information.
Walgreens – Walgreens is hiring for 9,500 full-time, part-time and temporary positions on the retail floor as well as the pharmacy. Several regions throughout the US have openings, click here for the list.

CVS – CVS Health plans to immediately hire 50,000 full-time, part-time and temporary roles across the United States. Positions include store associates, home delivery drivers, distribution center employees and member/customer service professionals. The hiring process – including interviews and job tryouts – will all be done virtually. Click here to apply.
7-Eleven – The convenience store recently announced the addition of 20,000 jobs in the coming months to help provide jobs as well as keep their stores clean and stocked. They also expect a surge in mobile orders through their 7NOW delivery app. Click on the link to apply.
Walmart – The retailer is adding 150,000 new workers due to high demand and reports that although jobs will be temporary at first they could become permanent over time. Positions available in their stores, clubs, distribution and fulfillment centers. Click here to apply.
