  • The Bookstore in the Grove hosts a weekly Friday series at 4pm with crafts & a book.
  • Books & Books Coral Gables attracts children’s authors with some regularity – schedule changes frequently, click here for an updated list.
  • Most libraries offer weekly sessions with crafts, books and/or music, click here to search for your closest location.
  • Kendale Lakes hosts a weekly Thursday evening bedtime storytime. PJs, books & quality family time. Click here for details.
  • Atarah Montessori hosts a monthly “Books for Breakfast” Sunday morning series. Munchkins watch their favorite books come to life with interactive book theater and crafts. Bonus – snacks for the little ones and coffee for the adults. 90 minutes of free fun. Click here for details.

Teresa Mears is a publisher, writer and editor who was raised to be frugal. She became a website entrepreneur after 30 years as an editor at newspapers ranging in size from the Portland (Tenn.) Leader to The Los Angeles Times and The Miami Herald, where she worked most recently. She moved to Florida in 1980 because it was the only place she could get a job during that recession and has lived in South Florida since 1985, in Miami, Hollywood, Tamarac, Wilton Manors and Fort Pierce.
