Free Homestead trolley expands service

City-of-Homestead-163The City of Homestead’s free trolley service, already a convenient way to get around, has added two more hours of service in the morning aimed at commuters.

It’s now running 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The downtown trolley route includes 19 stops, including five northbound on Krome Avenue, seven along eastbound Southwest Fourth Street, three along West Mowry and three stops along Northwest Sixth Avenue. The East/West trolley route includes 33 stops, mainly along Campbell Drive, Krome Avenue. and various other key locations.

The trolley does not operate on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Labor Day and Memorial Day. Call 305-224-4400 for more info.
