Zombie Survival Camp, a ‘TeenTober’ celebration, Sunday in Delray Beach

Zombie Survival Camp, a “TeenTober” celebration, is a two-hour community fair with flair and all zombie enthusiasts and haters are invited. There will be challenging activities on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Branch Library, 14350 Hagen Ranch Road, Delray Beach, FL 33446.

To combat zombies, you will need the following:

  • A good sense of humor. Zombies are no laughing matter, but they're also kind of ridiculous. If you can't keep your composure, you're doomed.
  • A sharp wit. Zombies are slow, but they're not stupid. If you can outsmart them, you've got a chance.
  • A trusty weapon. Any blunt object will do, but a baseball bat is ideal. Just make sure to swing for the head!

Here are some more tips for warding off zombies:

  • Always be aware of your surroundings. Zombies can come from anywhere, so don't let yourself get caught off guard.
  • Never go anywhere alone. Zombies travel in packs, so it's always best to have a buddy or two with you.
  • If you see a zombie, don't panic. Just take a deep breath and assess the situation. Can you outrun it? Outsmart it? Or do you need to fight it?
  • If you have to fight a zombie, aim for the head. That's the only way to kill it for good.

Here are some additional tips, just in case:

  • If you're bitten by a zombie, amputate the limb immediately. This is the only way to prevent the infection from spreading.
  • If you're surrounded by zombies, find a high place to hide. Zombies can't climb, so you'll be safe until they move on.
  • If you're lost in the wilderness, find a cave or other secluded spot to stay in. Zombies are attracted to light and noise, so the less visible and audible you are, the better.

And most importantly, remember to have fun! Combatting zombies is a serious business, but it can also be a lot of fun. Just be careful not to take yourself too seriously.
