Halloween trick-or-treating in Broward

Bring a bag. Or a plastic pumpkin for your treats. Parks, shopping plazas and fall festivals offer opportunities for kids to Trick or Treat for Halloween.

Many trick or treat events in Broward are free. A few events at local parks are exclusively for residents of that town.

Trick or Treating in Broward Events in 2023

East Broward

 

Pompano

Halloween event  6 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 31 at McNair recreation, 954-786-7882, 951 NW 27th Avenue, Pompano 33069. Free entry. Free parking.  Musical games and bounce houses are featured. The event includes photo booth, games, game truck, Halloween display, and treat bags.  Dress up for a costume contest.

Wilton Manors

For youngsters and families, Trick-or-Treating is offered 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Wilton Drive at participating vendors prior to Wicked Manors street festival. Entry is free 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. for  parents or guardians with kids. To enter or stay after 6 p.m., $10 entry fees are required. Parking fees apply, usually $20.

Hollywood

Trick or treating is 5 p.m. to 8  p.m. October 31 at Hollywood Historical Society, 1520 Polk Street, Hollywood 33020

Hollywood

Trunk or Treat is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 31 at Driftwood recreation, 954-967-4241, 3000 N. 69th Avenue, Hollywood 33024

Halloween event

Trunk or treat, bounce houses, haunted house, food, games and entertainment at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. October 31 at MLK Jr. recreation. The venue is at 2400 Charleston Street, Hollywood

Dania Beach

Dania Beach Fall Festival includes trunk or treat, live band and other fun. Entry is free. The event is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 27, and parking is free. It's at Thomas Park, 100 NW 8th Avenue, Dania Beach. 

Pompano Beach

Halloween Spooktacular 10 a.m. to 2 p.m October 28 includes trick or treating for youngsters,  a photo booth and “haunted” house. It's at Festival Marketplace, 954-979-4555, 2900 W. Sample Road, Pompano 33073.

The event is free. Parking is free.

Fort Lauderdale

Halloween event presented by Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation with trick or treating and games is 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. October 21, Snyder Park, 3299 SW Fourth Avenue, Fort Lauderdale 33315, 954-828-4585

Fort Lauderdale

Trick or Treating is featured at Pumpkins and Palm Trees Fall Fest at Las Olas Oceanside Park. It's offered 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  October 22 on East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale 33316. Parking in the beach area, including, Las Olas Beach parking garage, 200 SW 1st Ave, Fort Lauderdale. Parking is usually $3 or $4 an hour.

Fort Lauderdale

Trunk-or-Treat is 5 p.m. to  7 p.m. October 24 at Salvation Army, 100 SW Ninth Avenue, Fort Lauderdale 33312. Entry is free. Registering online is requested. 

Trunk or Treat at Christ Church United Methodist is 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 28, on the Christ Church field, which is west of the church at 4845 NE 25th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308. Families are invited to go trunk-or-treating in costume. There also will be bounce houses, entertainment and food available for purchase.

Oakland Park

Halloween Bash with free entry 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. October 27 includes truck or treat at Wimberly Field, 4000 NE Third Avenue, Oakland Park 33334. Games, bounce houses and other features are included.

Hallandale Beach

Halloween event 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m October 28 at Gulfstream Park Village, a shopping, dining and entertainment plaza, 901 S. Federal Highway, Hallandale 33009.  Entry is free. Parking is free.

  • 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Trick or treating at the plaza at treat stations embellished with lights, entertainment and strolling performers
  • 7 p.m. Headless Horseman rides into the walking ring
  • 8 p.m. Evil costume contest, food trucks and bars with refreshments for purchase, music, a laser light show, performers

Wilton Manors

Entry is free for Halloween Spooktacular 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. October 23 with trick or treating, and other fun. It's at Wilton Manors Elementary School, 2401 NE Third Avenue, Wilton Manors.  Fun includes costume contests, entertainment, and cake walk.

Dania Beach

Trick or treating is featured with other Halloween Harry Pawter games and fun 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. October 20 at Humane Society of Broward, 2070 Griffin Road, Davie 33312. Fees are required for some activities. Harry Pawter Halloween at Humane Society of Broward in Dania

West Broward

Weston

Weston Town Center is offering Halloween 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 31 with trick or treating. It includes costume parade and characters show. It's at 1675 Market Street, Weston 33326

Plantation

Trunk or treat at is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 31 at Pine Island Park, 320 S. Pine Island Road, Plantation 33324 . The event includes a costume contest and crafts. Entry is free.  Parking is free.

Coral Springs

Trick or treating at Coral Square. The Mall-O-Ween event is  5 p.m. to 7 p.m. October 31,  9469 W. Sample Road, Coral Springs 33071

Parkland

Parkland Halloween Festival 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. October 27 includes Trunk or Treat fun at Pine Trails Park.  The event includes photo booths, stilt walkers and a DJ. The venue is at 10559 Trails End.

Previous events

Plantation

Praise Tabernacle International is offering Harvest Family Festival 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. October 29, with Trunk or Treat, entertainment, and games. The church is at 1050 NW 43rd Avenue, Plantation 33313. Entry is free. The event will include a pumpkin decorating contest and costume contests.

Southwest Ranches

New Horizon United Methodist Church is offering

Fall Festival  October 21, and entry is free. The schedule includes:

  • 10:30 a.m. pumpkin party for youngsters
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. craft fair, baked goods and nearly new items

Trunk or Treat is 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. October 28 (a new date).

The venue is 5741 S. Flamingo Road, Southwest Ranches. 

Plantation

Mall-O-Ween Halloween fun is 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. October 28 at Broward Mall with free indoor trick or treating at participating stores. Broward Mall is at 8000 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation 33388.

Davie

Old Davie School is featuring Hot Rods Halloween fun 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 29 with trunk or treating. Entry is free, and $15 for registering a vehicle for the car show. The event includes DJ entertainment, outdoor games and crafts. Old Davie School is at 6650 Griffin Road, Davie 33314, 954-797-1044, website for Old Davie School Historical Museum. Parking is free.

 

Coconut Creek

Registration and fees are required for a Halloween event with trick or treating, games, and other features. The event is 6 p.m. October 27, with a fee of $5 for residents and $10 for non-residents.

Costume contests are included. It's at Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek 33063. Register online or at the Community Center or Recreation complex. For information, 954-545-6670

Other Halloween events

Sunrise

Ikea in Sunrise features a Halloween selfie photo op and a scavenger hunt to earn a bag of treats while supplies last. The scavenger hunt is offered 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. October 28-31  for ages 12 and younger. Ikea is at 151 NW 136th Avenue, Sunrise 33325.

Fort Lauderdale

12 p.m. – 3 p.m. October 29 Halloween Bootacular at Demesmin and Dover Law Firm, 1650 SE 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale 33316. The free event includes music, games, and food. Wear Halloween costumes if you'd like
