With the extreme heat index in recent years, water conservation is a primary concern. The City of West Palm Beach is addressing the issue with several programs to help residents save money and water.
Tuesday, March 26, 2024 is the next giveaway date; registration open.
New water customers can receive welcome kits of their choice:
- Indoor kit: Leak detector dye tabs, low-flow shower head, 5-minute shower timer, faucet aerators, toilet displacement bag.
- Outdoor kit: Spray hose nozzle, rain gauge, automatic hose timer shut-off valve.
- Toilet tune-up kit: Frugal Flush toilet flapper, FlushLess displacement bag and leak detector dye tabs.
Homeowners can receive a free 55-gallon rain barrel to help:
- conserve water
- save money
- reduce storm water runoff
In order to be approved for this program, you will be required to watch the virtual presentation and complete a quiz to understand safety concerns and installation tips or attend an in-person presentation. One rain barrel per property for the lifetime of the property. Advance registration and approval required.

Additionally: The West Palm Beach Public Utilities Department will once again be providing $125 High Efficiency Toilet Credits for the replacement of residential and commercial toilets to promote water conservation, after the new budget is in place during August, 2024.
