To our readers: Welcome to our new, bigger site – and get our app!

We have some exciting news: We have merged our Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach websites with our Miami website to create one giant Miami-South Florida on the Cheap website.

This means that you can find all the best free and cheap events and deals for all of South Florida in one place!

We've also created new navigation to help you find what you want, when you want it:

Or, start at the homepage and see the best news and events from all three counties. Our daily newsletter will include the top events and deals from throughout South Florida, and we have also merged our Facebook pages. MiamiCheap will share events from all three counties on Twitter and Instagram.

Miami-South Florida on the Cheap as an app

Our fancy new under-the-hood framework also means you can add Miami-South Florida on the Cheap to your phone and view it as an app. You don't buy it in the app store, because it is what is known as a PWA (Progressive Web App). But it works like an app on your phone, and the new site has been designed to work especially well on mobile.

  • Android devices: Launch the Chrome app. Open MiamiOnTheCheap.com. Click on the three dots at the top right. Tap “Add to Home Screen.” Click on “Install App.”
  • iPhone or iPad: Launch Safari. Open MiamiOnTheCheap.com. Tap the bookmark icon at the bottom of the screen (it looks like a box with an upward-pointing arrow). Tap “Add to Home Screen.” Accept the suggested name for the shortcut, or pick your own name. At the top of the screen, tap “Add” to save the shortcut to the home screen.

Miami-South Florida on the Cheap is edited by Melina De Rose, a former South Florida Sun Sentinel journalist who also edits the cultural magazine, Artburst Miami. You can reach her at editor@miamionthecheap.com. Noelani Soto is our lead Miami-Dade County writer. You can reach her at news@miamionthecheap.com.

Patti Roth, our Fort Lauderdale on the Cheap editor, continues writing and editing Broward County news and events, and you can still reach her at patti@fortlauderdaleonthecheap.com. We are seeking a new writer to cover Palm Beach County.

The Miami-South Florida on the Cheap site also has a new, faster, more mobile-friendly framework under the hood. This is part of our commitment to continue to be the top South Florida source for free and cheap things to do, discounts and deals.

Thank you for reading Miami-South Florida on the Cheap and its related sites for the past 12 years!
