Can’t miss things to do in January in Miami-Dade

Happy New Year! It's 2026, the holidays are over and the festivals and more are back! Here's a list of fun to be had around Miami-Dade County during the first month of the year.

King Mango Strut in Coconut Grove

It's tradition, the first weekend of the year is when by far the wackiest parade takes place throughout the streets of Downtown Coconut Grove. The King Mango Strut, which began 41 years ago as a parody of the once popular Orange Bowl Parade, brings out parade of marching groups poking fun at the year's most outrageous events.

Art Deco Weekend on Miami Beach

Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend is the first long weekend of the year and also when the 49th Annual Art Deco Weekend takes place on Miami Beach. The three-day festival celebrates the beloved Art Deco architecture that has kept Miami Beach on the travel destination plans of so many around the world. Aside from the guided walking tours through the historic district, there is a vintage artisan market, musical performances paying homage to the era's music and a classic car show.
