Christmas in July at The Square, West Palm Beach

Bet you didn't know that Fannie Holt, cofounder of a summer camp in Brevard, North Carolina, located in the Pisgah National Forest, just outside of Asheville, is credited with starting the Christmas in July tradition, did you? The story goes that her campers were homesick, so she had them make Secret Santa gifts for their friends back in 1933. The Washington Post ran the story and, as they say, the rest is history …

This year, for 2023, the folks at The Square in West Palm Beach are continuing the Christmas in July custom on Saturday, July 22, from 4 to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, July 23, 1-3 p.m., on the lawn. The mall is at 700 S. Rosemary Ave., in West Palm Beach. For more details, see this web page.

So, tell you kids to get their Christmas wish list ready early for Santa's summertime visit.
