CityPlace, formerly The Square, is bursting with free & cheap events in West Palm

Previously called The Square, this central hub of shopping, entertainment and dining is once again CityPlace. Along with the recent name change, comes a host of family-focused events, from music and dancing to fashion, films and more.

Here's a sample of what's in store in 2024 through Labor Day:

  • Latin Dance Nights – After dinner reservations at CityPlace, things will heat up on the lawn this summer with a curated showcase of local talented Latin musicians. Fridays starting in May, 6-10 p.m.
  • aZul Fashion Fest is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering alternative art-focused programs for adults with disabilities and their caregivers and family members. The public is invited to attend this showcase of local designers with their Summer 2024 Collection. May 11, 4-7 p.m.
  • The Kings Academy Jazz Ensemble will present a concert under the stars. Free and open to the public on the lawn. May 18, 6-9 p.m.
  • International Red Sneakers Day is a free mini festival dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of food allergies. Attendees are encouraged to wear red sneakers, accessories, or attire. May 19, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • YouthFest presented by FLAVAR and Rohi’s Readery will take attendees back to the iconic era of the '90s house party. Kids and teens will enjoy hip hop beats, DJ story time, a record painting class, DJ lessons and more. May 31, 5-9 p.m.

aZul Fashion Fest at CityPlace WPB

  • Make Music Day Palm Beach County is a musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year. This will be an all-day free event, with live music programming. 
  • Bubble Blast every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as family-focused pop ups, STEAM activities and more. Fridays 4 & 6 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m., from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
  • “BAM! Festival,” for Books, Art, and Music – Junior book, art and music aficionados unite during this monthly literary series on the lawn with story time and interactive activities. Last Friday of each month May to August from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Science Sunday with Cox Science Center and Aquarium – Experience the wonder of science through new interactive themed demonstrations each week presented by the Cox Science Center and Aquarium. Every Sunday starting May 26 through Sept. 1.
  • Movie Nights: Grab a blanket, friends and take-out from CityPlace restaurants for family-friendly movie nights on the lawn. Free and open to all ages. Dates and times TBD.
