$10 Friday: Art After Dark celebrates Disability Pride Month at Norton Museum

Each week, after regular hours, the Norton Museum of Art presents a new experience, with an eclectic mix of live performances, film screenings, workshops, tours, and more, called Art After Dark.

Art After Dark

  • When: Fridays, from 5 to 10 p.m. 
  • Where: Norton Museum of Art, 1450 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach
  • Cost: $5 members; $10 general admission; Get tickets online HERE.
  • Features: Friday, July 17, 2026, visitors can enjoy short films centered on stories of resilience, plus a fashion show & market while celebrating DISABILITY PRIDE MONTH.

SHORT FILMS
Enjoy a presentation of three short films centered on stories of resilience in the face of complex physical and neurological challenges.

The Rescue
Director: Seth Bakke
Trapped in silence, a nonverbal young man must fight to communicate as a new therapist sees what no one else can — the subtle signs of a mind trying to break free.

Apple Juice with No Ice
Director: Jillian Caforio
Inspired by the special needs community, this film follows Joey as he reluctantly accepts a new job taking Miles out for dinner each week. He discovers what true friendship is and that life is better with no ice.

The Calm Under the Water
Director: Cam Brooks
The story of an artist paralyzed from the neck down as they navigate physical obstacles in a journey toward happiness and inner peace.

Every Friday there's something new to do and see, plus a showcase of up-and-coming and established performers. In essence, this after-hours weekly discounted event has something for all ages and it's fresh and never boring. 

Palm Beach State College Jazz Band

 

Plus, if it's Friday, shake off the sand and head down to The Norton as part of the museum's Art After Dark series that features something new and different each week.

 And if it's the first Friday of the month, it's Jazz Friday, with cool tunes and hot vibes.

The museum is open to the public until 10 p.m. on Friday nights throughout the year. It will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Reduced-rate tickets for these programs are $5-$10; members and children 12 and under are admitted for free. Plus, active military and county residents will be admitted free of charge, with I.D.

EVERY FRIDAY, 5:30 & 7:30 p.m.
Docent-led Tours (30 min) Explore great works in the Norton’s collection led by one of the Museum’s fine docents.

EVERY FRIDAY, 6-9 p.m.
Open Studio: Art Workshops Join local teaching artists as they lead drop-in style art-making sessions. All ages and experience levels welcome. Materials included.

EVERY FRIDAY, Live Performances
Enjoy live performances every Friday including live music, dance, spoken word, and more! Check this website weekly for updates.

First Fridays of the Month, 7 p.m. / Jazz Fridays
This popular monthly series features performances by some of South Florida’s best jazz musicians.

Third Fridays of the Month, 8 p.m. / Artist Tour
South Florida-based artists lead informal, 30-minute gallery talks about works in the Norton’s collection and special exhibitions.

Parking: Available in the Norton’s main parking lot at 1501 S. Dixie Highway, immediately across the street from the Museum. Parking is $6 per car, per day. Norton Members park for free.

The Norton uses ParkMobile to collect payment for parking. To pay for parking, download the app and use the code on signage throughout the lot.

Accessible parking: Available in the main lot and in the drop-off circle adjacent to the Museum entrance (corner of South Dixie Highway and Jefferson Road).

Food and drink: The Restaurant at the Norton offers indoor and outdoor seating with views of the Sculpture Garden. Reservations available through Tock.
