Explore aquatic life at Sandoway Discovery Center in Delray Beach

Have you ever fed a shark or a stingray?

Wouldn't it be great if there were a place you could take the kids that would be educational and fun for an entire afternoon for only $10? Well, there is. Sandoway Discovery Center in Delray Beach offers the following activities all for the cost of admission:

  • Weekly animal talks
  • Shark and stingray feedings
  • Aquarium feeding (inside tanks)
  • Animal encounters
  • Year-round, hands-on exhibits

The site was once an historical Florida home that has since been turned into an award-winning Nature Center on the beach. It not only features interactive educational exhibits and programs designed to inspire the minds of young children, future botanists, oceanographers, marine biologists and researchers, but it also provides hands-on activities and experiences for the public to learn about and appreciate aquatic life.

WEEKLY ANIMAL TALKS
Shark and Stingray Feeding: Tuesday-Sunday, 1 p.m.
Aquarium Feeding (inside tanks): Tuesday-Sunday 2 p.m.
Animal Encounter: Tuesday-Sunday 3 p.m.

Hours: Monday: closed; Tuesday-Friday: noon-4 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday: noon-4 p.m. (Closed major holidays.)

Location: 142 S. Ocean Blvd., Delray Beach, FL 33483. Call 561-274-7263. Park on site for free.
