Hispanic Heritage events, Palm Beach County

Hispanic Heritage Day was originally celebrated on Sept. 15 each year, but it has evolved into a series of monthlong celebrations honoring the contributions of Hispanic and Latinx cultures that reflect the growing American diversity.

Each community and venue not only gets to choose how they celebrate these diverse cultures through food, music, art and dance, but they also help solidify our connections to all of Mother Earth's inhabitants. Here is a list of some free and cheap events we found:

Latino Conservation Week at Busch Wildlife

The Sanctuary will host the following Spanish-language educational programs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily from Saturday, Sept. 14 to Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024:

  • “Panthers on the Prowl” at 12:30 p.m.
  • “Amazing Black Bears” at 1:30 p.m.
  • “Conservation Conversation” at 2:30 p.m.

There will also be yard games and other interactive learning exhibits for all community members to enjoy. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, 17855 Rocky Pines Road, Jupiter. Admission is on a donation basis.


Hispanic Heritage at The Historical Society

Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event begins with a catered reception, followed by a panel discussion with artists whose works highlight the connection between Latinx traditions and cultures. The evening will conclude with a live flamenco performance.

This is a free community event but space is limited and registration is required. To attend, leave your name and number of attendees at 561-832-4164, Ext. 306 or send an email to info@pbchistory.org.

Clematis By Night features Cortadito (Cuban Son)

When: Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, from 6 to 9 p.m.  

Enjoy live music, food, and shopping by the waterfront. Free admission; vendor prices vary.

Location: Centennial Square & Great Lawn, 100 N. Clematis St., West Palm Beach.


Sunset Sounds at the Boca Raton Museum of Art

When: Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, 5-8 p.m.

Featured: Frayabel and the Latin Band, with salsa and merengue.

Visitors are encouraged to take their own folding chairs or rent one for $5. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The music is free.

Location: Boca Raton Museum of Art, Courtyard, 501 Plaza Real.


Hispanic Heritage Night, Wellington

When: Sept. 20, 2024, from 5 to 10 p.m.

Wellington celebrates cultural diversity and the traditions of Latin American countries with food, music, dance and fun for all ages. Free admission.

Location: Wellington Amphitheater, 12100 Forest Hill Blvd.

National Hispanic Heritage Month in Northwood Village

When: Sept. 20, 2024, from 6 to 9 p.m.

This free, public event features live music, food trucks, shopping, and the opportunity to win a catamaran tour of West Palm Beach. Vendor prices vary.

When: Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, from 6 to 9 p.m. 

Enjoy live music, food, and shopping on the Great Lawn in downtown West Palm Beach. 

Features: Live music with salsa, merengue, bachata, and cumbia.

When: Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at City Hall Courtyard and take your dancing shoes. Get ready to groove to the beats of salsa, bachata, merengue, and more. Don’t just dance—learn the steps!

Nuestra Cultura Community Day at The Norton

When: Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Celebrate the rich, diverse cultures and traditions across South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean during this community day at the Norton Museum of Art. Enjoy art workshops, music, dance, and Spanish-language tours, and connect with local organizations and food in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event is free. RSVP to attend at Nuestra Cultura Community Day.

The Family Festival by Hispanos Unidos, Greenacres

When: Saturday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 7 p.m.

This free event is a vibrant celebration of Hispanic families, offering a day full of delicious Latin food, live entertainment, and valuable educational resources.

Enjoy a wide range of free activities, including live Latin music performances, fun activities for kids, including sports, soccer, inflatables, and face painting, dance classes and traditional folk dances from Latin American countries, and more.
