Free and cheap kids’ Halloween events in Miami 2024

Trick or treating, costumes, candy and plenty of ghosts and goblins must mean we're talking about Halloween!

Oct. 31 might be the actual holiday but there are plenty of events leading up to the big night and we've got them rounded up for you right here. Events are free unless otherwise noted.

Free and cheap Halloween events in Miami-Dade 2024 

Sat., Oct. 12, 2024 – The Social Meets Spooktacular Trick or Treat Pop Up Market with trick or treating and shopping. Costumes encouraged and no masks allowed. Noon to 4 p.m. at Event Center Miami, 10549 SW 109 Ct., Miami. Free.

Howl-O-Ween at Palmetto Bay Park: Spooky festivities await, complete with a doggie zone, tricks and treats, a costume contest, pumpkin patch, live entertainment and food and drinks. Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest: Bring your pooch decked out in a Halloween costume for a chance to win prizes. Categories include funniest, spookiest, best homemade, superhero or villain and coordinated paw-see a group category for pets and humans. 5-7 p.m., Trails & Tails Park, 11645 NW 50 St., Doral. Halloween Spook-Tacular: So much fun to be had with a haunted house, spooky kids zone, trick-or-treating, music, food vendors and a pumpkin decorating contest with prizes awarded for painted, mixed media and carved. 6-9 p.m., Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Ave. Free. Click here for details.

Howl-O-Ween @ The Wolf: Spend the afternoon making masks with local artist Pangea Kali Virga, explore their library open house, enter a scavenger hunt and costume raffle, enjoy sweets provided by Trader Joe's and listen to the music of Young Musicians Unite's Miami Beach Rock Ensemble. 1-4 p.m., The Wolfsonian-FIU, 1001 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Rumpelstilskin and Other Spooky Musical Stories: Orchestra Miami presents their “Spooktober” concert as part of their Family Fun Series. They will perform “Dracula Overture,” “Revenge of the Rosin Eating Zombies” and “Rumpelstilskin” performed to Mozart's “Symphony No. 40.” Costumes encouraged for the post-performance costume parade plus drinks and cookies. 3 p.m., Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 SW 57 Ave., Pinecrest. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024:

City of North Miami's Annual Haunted Trails: Costume contest, trunk or treat, scary hayrides along the Haunted Trail, rides, a photo booth and haunted trail. 7-10 p.m. at Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park, 1725 ne 135 St., North Miami. Tickets $7+ tax. Click here to buy.

Track or Treat and Outdoor Movie at Village of Pinecrest: Trick or treating, spooky surprises and more in a family-friendly Halloween environment followed by Halloween-themed outdoor movie. 5-7 p.m., movie at 7:30 p.m., Evelyn Greer Park, 8200 SW 124 St., Pinecrest.

Spooky Spooktacular at Surfside: Celebrate Halloween at this family-friendly event hosted by the Surfside Parks & Recreation Department with a spooky maze, music, food for sale and mocktails. 6-9 p.m. at the Surfside Community Center, 9301 Collins Ave., Surfside. Free.

Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024:

Family-friendly Halloween Party: Trick or treating, face painting, costume contests and scary movies. Fun for the whole family! 6-10 p.m., ADAPT, 14901 NE 20 Ave., North Miami. Free. RSVP here.

Kiddo-Ween Festival at Bayside Marketplace: Presented by Kiddos Magazine, the event includes Halloween-themed family fun zone, trick or treating, pumpkin patch, bounce house, pumpkin decorating, face painting and giveaways and character experiences. Admission is free, but rides and other activities require a wristband purchase. 2-7 p.m., 401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. Link to RSVP.

Adventure-Leggers Costume Contest: Bookleggers Library at the Bakehouse is hosting a kids' costume contest during their Adventure-Leggers event along with spooky interactive fun including a shrunken-head clay workshop, face painting and more. There will also be performances by Miami Girls Rock Camp, Guitars Over Guns and Jazz Education Music Coalition. 4 p.m., Bakehouse Art Complex, 561 NW 32 St. Free. Click here for details.

Trick-or-Treat on the Mile: Family-friendly event spanning the length of Miracle Mile in Coral Gables with trick or treating from businesses along the street with purple balloons outside. There will also be face painting, balloon artists, a doggie costume contest at Coral Gables Museum, a movie musical celebration at Actors' Playhouse, caricaturist, magic show at LeJeune Plaza and Spooky Children's Story Hour one block over at Books & Books on Aragon Ave. 3-6 p.m. from Douglas Rd. Trunk-or-Treat and Movie Night: An alternative to trick or treating enjoy “trunk” or treat along NW 53 St. in Doral. Vehicles need to register. Following the candy-filled fun, stick around to watch the animated film “Inside Out 2.” Blankets are encouraged. 5-9 p.m., Downtown Doral Park, 8395 NW 53 St., Doral. Free. Pawty Festivals Halloween: Dog-friendly event with themed stations, games, prizes, gourmet treats and an adoption station. Noon to 6 p.m. at Margaret Pace Park, 1745 N. Bayshore Dr., Miami. $11.99. Buy tickets here.

Halloween Sunday Funday at Miami Beach Botanical Garden: Bring the family to the garden where kids will receive a free pumpkin (while supplies last) which they can decorate, search around the garden for gourds, partake in Halloween-themed arts and crafts and enjoy spooky story time on the lawn. 1-3 p.m. at 2000 Convention Center Dr.

Howl-o-ween Pawday: Presented by Pawffers Magazine a pet costume contest, giveaways and photo opportunities, a LEGO make and take event for kids 6 years old and under, a live DJ and luxury pet supply vendors. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Esplanade at Aventura, 19505 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura.

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 – Halloween Night!

Halloween on Lincoln Road – The yearly block party in the pedestrian mall kicks off from 4-6 p.m. with a kids trick or treating along the street followed by an adult block party with ghoulish fun from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Alton Rd. to Washington Ave. along Lincoln Rd. on Miami Beach.

Hialeah Cares: Community Halloween Party and Haunted House: Spooky house, trick or treating, Halloween- themed activities and giveaways. 4-8 p.m., Miami Dade College Hialeah Campus, 1780 W 49 St., Hialeah. Free. Click here to RSVP.

Halloween Spooktacular: Enjoy an afternoon fun trick or treating throughout the mall at select retailers, enter a costume contest and dance to beats by the DJ. 4:30-6:30 p.m., Miami International Mall, 1455 NW 107 Ave., Doral.

Trick or treating at Aventura Mall: Meander the swanky and one of America's largest malls, collecting candy from participating retailers. 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., 19501 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura.

Safe Streets Halloween: Presented by the City of South Miami and Miami Kids Magazine, this trick or treating event happens in the heart of South Miami from 4-7 p.m. on Sunset Dr. (SW 72 St.) from US1 to SW 57 Ave.

Haunted Houses in South Florida

Visiting a haunted house can be expensive, but we have negotiated discounts and found deals for some of the best.
