Free: Sacagawea meets Beethoven in Lake Worth

Sacagawea Meets Beethoven on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 7 p.m. This free performance brings to life a Native American heroine, presented by the Core Ensemble to tell the story of Sacagawea, the Shoshone guide and interpreter. Legend says she braved floods, hunger, storms and snakes to help the Lewis and Clark expedition open up the American West – while carrying her infant son on her back. At the same time – on the other side of the world – Ludwig van Beethoven, a colossus of classical composition, flouted convention with a new musical style, flowing with raw, passionate emotion… Romanticism. The performance is open to the public and everyone is welcome.
