The Bass Museum of Arts in Miami Beach opened in 1964 and showcases contemporary art in both permanent and temporary exhibits.
Are you a resident of Miami Beach? If so, you're in luck! Miami Beach Residents enjoy free admission to The Bass all year round! Present a valid ID or proof of residence and receive complimentary entrance to the museum’s latest exhibitions.
Other free days and discounts at the Bass Museum:
- Summer Thursdays with reduced admission for seniors students and kids every Thursday through September and extended hours from 6-9 p.m.
- Free admission every Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. for Art Outside, an art activation during the Miami Beach Culture Crawl.
- Free admission for Bank of America cardholders the first full weekend of every month, both Saturday and Sunday.
- Free admission the last Sunday of every month for Family Day. Sept. 29: “We The People,” a collaborative art project inspired by the current exhibition.
- Free admission for residents and employees of the city of Miami Beach with ID and proof of residence.
- Free admission for active-duty and retired military personnel, plus one guest.
- Free admission for SNAP EBT cardholders, plus up to three guests.
- Free admissions for people with a disability protected under the ADA and one caregiver.
- Discount admission for seniors 65 and older, students with college ID and youth 7 to 18 is $8.
- Children 6 and under are free
- Museum members are free.
Bass Museum Free Family Day every month
The Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach offers a Free Family Day and Art Cares activities on the last Sunday of most months. Free art-making materials are provided to participants. The purpose is to create a family event to experience the power of art.
Families are invited to enjoy special activities such as arts projects and scavenger hunts. The event is from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Sunday, July 28: Public Art
- Sunday, Aug. 25: Art Meets Poetry
- Sunday, Sept. 29: We the People
- Sunday, Oct. 27: Autumn Art

Parking: Collins Plaza, 2200 Liberty Avenue, is adjacent to Collins Park, 2100 Collins Avenue, next to Miami City Ballet. The nearest public parking is available at the Collins Park garage, 340 23rd St., Miami Beach, one block north of The Bass. There are also two additional places to park at 2101 Collins Ave., and Lot 40 on the southeast side of the area on Miami Beach.
