See short films that received Academy Award nominations this past year. The 2023 Oscar Nominated Short Films program offers viewers the rare opportunity to experience the year’s best short films from across the globe, collected together in this special cinematic showcase courtesy of Shorts HD and Magnolia Pictures.

Enjoy an unforgettable cinematic Virtual Reality experience at O Cinema, South Beach, Feb. 17-23. Tickets: $9.50-$11.

You can choose Live Action & Documentary or Animation shorts. Shows run 75-90 minutes and most are PG13, with one R-rated animated short.

NOTE: Reel movie lovers may want to also check out an indie film, This is Not a Ceremony, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. While wearing VR headsets, participants sit at four corners of a medicine wheel and are immersed in a documentary-style short film about two indigenous men who faced systemic racism in Canada. See it at the Westchester Regional Library on Saturday, Feb. 18, for $5. Shows every 30 minutes starting at 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. The library has free onsite parking and is located at 9445 Coral Way, South Miami.
