Free seasonal art activities by Miami Children’s Museum, The Shops at Midtown Miami

The 2nd Saturday of the month through December offers free seasonal art and activities held by the Miami Children's Museum at The Shops at Midtown Miami, 3401 N. Miami Ave. Take the kids from noon to 2 p.m. on Sept. 10 to the center’s M Park located near West Elm and Nordstrom Rack.

The September event of “Make your Mark,” will help get the new school year off to an out-of-this-world start. Create whimsical night skies based on colorful, far-away galaxies. Pink, purple and blue-hued paints will be accented by celestial objects made of aluminum foil in these take-home masterpieces.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 8 , from noon to 3 p.m., bring the family for a special Halloween show featuring “Monsters Under the Bed.” There will be two performances: one at noon and one a 2 pm. The show is 45 minutes long.
  • On Saturday, Nov. 12, noon to 2 p.m., create your own Thanksgiving holiday placemats using leaves from local South Florida forests. Make rubbings and arrange them in a create laminated collage that can be taken home and shared.
  • On Saturday, Dec. 10, noon to 3 p.m., activities will help get you into the spirit of the holiday season with a musical story time as you read stories and sing songs, while celebrating various cultures. There will be two performances: one at noon and one a 2 pm. The show is 45 minutes long.
