Free live music at Government Center

The folks behind “Wake up Miami!” say the world is a nice place to live when you wake up with music. They’ll test that theory when they present free live music, dance and performances during the morning commute at the busiest Metrorail/Metromover station in Miami: the Government Center, 101 NW First St.

The music will play every Monday morning for one hour starting at 8:30 am, excluding major holidays and voting/early voting days, from July 11 through Sept. 26, 2022. Hopefully, it’ll motivate Miamians.

Here is the schedule:

  • July 11: Felipe Lamoglia
  • July 18: Sign of Da’ Times
  • July 25: Brecht Quartet
  • August 1: Robyn Savitzky
  • August 29: Uma Galera
  • September 12: Tony Perez
  • September 19: Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Man
  • September 26: Las Nubes

The July 18 show is presented in collaboration with Sign of Da’ Times, a music/dance performance company that includes Deaf and hearing performers. Its mission is “Bridging the gap between Deaf and hearing culture through education and the performing arts.”
