South Florida Book Festival in Fort Lauderdale

Dance, art and exciting speakers. The South Florida Book Festival is packed with literature and entertainment. 

In 2023, South Florida Book Festival is July 13-15 with lots of free events. It's at the African-American library, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale 33311.

The focus is Hip-Hop as form of expression through words and rhythms.

Some presentations require reservations online.

Events include:

  • 10:30 a.m.- 3 p.m.  July 13 Youth Day featuring New York Times author Kwame Alexander and activities with Girls Make Beats and the Museum of Graffiti  Free/Tickets
  • 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. July 13 T.W.E.R.K., Transnational artistic dance Works and practices that Evoke Revolutionary Kinship, featuring Olujimi Dance Theater Free/Tickets
  • 6 p.m.  July 14 event featuring Kevin Powell Free/Tickets
  • 10:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.  July 15 South Florida Book Festival
  • 11 a.m. program featuring Regina N. Bradley Free/Tickets
