Best things to do in September in Miami-Dade

We kick off the month with a long weekend which is always nice and hopefully can also enjoy some cooler weather in September. 

Miami Spice continues through Sept. 30 making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy what you may have missed in August while away on vacation or getting the kids settled back into school. They added a few more restaurants so the list has expanded since the promotion began. Click here to see the most updated list and find a great deal before the month ends!

 

 

Adopt-A-Tree is hosting it's final tree giveaway of the year on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center in Cutler Bay from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Pick from more than a dozen trees, you can take two home, and take advantage of their showerhead and light bulb exchange program too. HistoryMiami's monthly free Family Fun Day held the second Saturday of the month. This month's event is Sept. 13 and the theme is “Traditions of Serbia,” with hands-on craft making, dance performances and other traditional cultural activities. Click here for info. 

Underline Family Day

The Underline, an ever-evolving linear park under the Miami-Dade Metromover is where to find a few monthly events including yoga and a farmer's market plus other specialty events. Every Saturday morning from 9-10 a.m. there's yoga at The Urban Gym at the Brickell Backyard Sound Stage then on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, shop at the Farmer's Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at SW 8 St. and 1 Ave. There's always a weekend dedicated to Family Day with plenty of fun for the kiddos. Take in a Museum around Miami-Dade during one of the many free museum days throughout the month. You can check off Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) in Downtown Miami, The Bass on Miami Beach, Gold Coast Railroad Museum and Miami Children's Museum off your list.
