The days are longer and the casual days of summer have arrived. It's also really hot because… Miami.
Here is how to have some free and cheap fun around Miami-Dade in June that will keep you cool and also moving and entertained. Click on the links for full info and we will add more events like cheap kids' movies and other events as they are announced.
Stay cool at pools around Miami and enjoy waterslides, interactive playground equipment, water apparatus and cannons plus, splash areas for the kiddos and swimming lap areas for the adults.
AMC Theatres are hosting the Summer Movie Camp starting June 23. The theaters will show a different animated film every Monday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. June features are “Minions: The Rise of Gru” and “Bad Guys” and the films continue into July and August. The best part, they're only $3! There are four locations around Miami.
Events at Miami Beach Bandshell
One of Miami's most popular open-air venues that's by the beach, meaning it stays cool in the evenings, the Miami Beach Bandshell has plenty of free events throughout June and July. In June, come out and enjoy a concert by Cuban singer Maylu who will welcome several special guests on stage throughout the show and catch a screening of the award-winning film “Summer of Soul.”

Gold Coast Railroad Museum
Another way to keep cool is to stay indoors and museums are a great way to do that while being entertained with cool art and fun hands-on activities. Learn about Miami's history, see contemporary art, view historic railroad cars up close, enjoy family activities and marvel at works inside a historic Art Deco building. In other words, there's something for everyone. We have a great list of all the places you can visit for free on certain days of the month and some are free every single day!

You've seen the trees flowering since late May and in June, the Royal Poincianas are in full bloom and that's something to be celebrated and that's what the Tropical Flowering Tree Society does in early June with a couple of free events. They kick the day off with a walking tour of Miami's first flowering tree park and end it with a party and reception.
