Valentine's Day evokes feelings of romance and fancy dinners with a loved one and President's Day marks an always welcomed long weekend. However, there's more to do in this second month of the year.

Take advantage of the cool weather and visit The Underline, where the first Saturday of the month, in February that's February 1, they host a Family Day. The linear park that extends under Miami's Metrorail line offers a fun day with music, food, yoga and fun activities for the whole family and on select other Saturdays they host a Farmer's Market. Watch colorful kites take over the skies at Haulover Park during the Kite Days Festival Feb. 15-17. The folks from Skyward Kites have been hosting the annual event for more than a decade where they host kite-building workshops and demonstrations and host a kite-flying competition. There's live music and food trucks too! Bring a blanket and chair and spend the day on the grass watching colorful kites fly high. Click here for all the info.

Immerse yourself in all things Greek at one of Miami's longest running yearly events, the 47th Annual Saint Sophia Greek Festival Feb. 27 to March 1. Bring the whole family and watch live Greek dancing, listen to Greek music, indulge in some Greek favorites like baklava, spanakopita and lots of other goodies. Learn how to make some of them yourself with their cooking demonstrations. You'll be shouting OPA! all weekend long.
