Orchestra Miami Family Fun Series

Orchestra Miami is presenting its Family Fun Series at Pinecrest Gardens.

The series, which features four different programs on Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m. introduces kids to the performing arts through performances with live music. This diverse series features symphonic music, dance, chamber music, Mariachi, opera and more.

Each concert lasts approximately one hour, and juice and cookies are served after all the performances.

Here is the schedule:

  • Sunday, November 12, 2023. at 3 p.m. “Tough Turkey in the Big City: A Feathered Tale.” This feathered tale features music by Bruce Adolphe and a story by Louise Gikow. It follows the adventures of Tom, a turkey from the sticks, who meets a Park Avenue pigeon in a comic blunder. 
  • Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 3 p.m. Mad for Mariachi. Students from the Homestead Miami Mariachi Conservatory will perform with musicians from Orchestra Miami.
  • Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 3 p.m. Little Red Riding Hood. An operatic version of the classic fairy tale will be performed in a fully-staged production by three professional opera singers with music direction by Elaine Rinaldi.
  • Sunday, April 7, 2024,at 3 p.m. The King, the Cat, and the Fiddle. This is the final concert in the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Family Fun Concert Series. Bruce Adolphe’s tale will be set to music with solo performances from Orchestra Miami and the narrator. Also, on the program is “Farmony,” an interactive piece for string quartet – and kids in the audience.

All the performances will take place at Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 Red Road, Pinecrest, Florida 33156.

Tickets are $8 for kids (3-17); $12 for seniors (65 and older); and $15 for adults. A Family Pack or tickets (2 Kids and 2 Adults) is available for $39. Tickets available at http://www.OrchestraMiami.org or by calling (305) 274-2103.

If you subscribe to the four-concert series, you get 20 percent off single ticket prices. Subscription prices are $26 for kids, $38 for seniors, $48 for adults and $147 for Family Packs (2 Kids and 2 Adults).
