Free MLK ceremonies & celebrations in Boca Raton

The City of Boca Raton will mark MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, with day-long festivities, including a free community breakfast, a march with jazz bands, a ceremony and public Unity Celebration, plus a free tree giveaway at Mizner Park.

Note: On Monday, Martin Luther King Day, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., the Boca Raton Museum of Art will be open with FREE admission during the City's MLK Jr. Day event. Please reserve your admission ticket(s) in person.

FREE and open to the public:

  • Ceremony | 10:30 a.m.
    Mizner Park Amphitheater (590 Plaza Real)
    —Keynote Speaker: Charles Ridley
    —Mayoral Proclamation 
    —Community Leader Speeches
    —Humanitarian Award Presentation 
  • FREE Unity Celebration | 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

    —Amusement rides, games and crafts
    —Community booths
    —Tabling by community partners
    —Food & drinks available for purchase
    —Stage performances

Plus, the city will be giving away free trees to Boca Raton residents with proper ID while supplies last starting at 11 a.m. Species include: Gumbo Limbo, Paradise Tree, June Plum, Barbados Cherry, and Starfruit. Limit two per household.
