Kwanzaa celebrations in Palm Beach County, Dec. 26 & 27

Kwanzaa is a family holiday that celebrates heritage, history, values, family, community and culture with music, dance and cultural traditions. The seven principles that form the holiday's core mission include the following:

Dec. 26: 5th Annual Umoja Kwanzaa Celebration

  • When: Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
  • Where: AARLCC of Palm Beach County, 1501 N. Australian Ave., Gaines Park, West Palm Beach
  • Cost: Free with RSVP

Hosted by the African American Research Library & Cultural Center of Palm Beach County, Inc. (AARLCC), this vibrant community celebration honors African heritage, celebrates unity, and uplifts the spirit of togetherness and purpose.

This celebration features an afternoon of music, dance, cultural performances, youth activities, local vendors, and family fun as family and neighbors embrace the first principle of Kwanzaa.


Dec. 26: Kwanzaa Celebration at Spady Museum

  • When: Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Where: Spady Cultural Heritage Museum, 170 NW 5th Ave., Delray Beach
  • Cost: RSVP online; admission by donation (suggested $20).

Families will come together to make gifts, enjoy live music, engage in art activities, and participate in storytelling. Held outdoors on the museum grounds, the event highlights the seven principles of Kwanzaa with contributions from local families and youth, creating a rich and memorable experience for all.


Dec. 27: Kwanzaa – Afrique Ngozi Dance & Drums

Experience live West African dancing and drumming and other family fun activities on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

  • Where: The Lawn at CityPlace, 700 N. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach
  • Cost: Free; open to the public.

Schedule:

  • 4:30-5:30 p.m. – Kwanzaa craft
  • 5:30-6 p.m. – Story Time
  • 6:00-6:30 p.m. – Performance
