Free Florida reading program delivers books to eligible students at home

There is a statewide initiative being promoted by the Florida Department of Education that uses New Worlds Reading's books and activities to support students in strengthening literacy skills, building reading confidence, and nurturing a lifelong love of reading.

Each month during the school year, eligible children receive a free book tailored to their interests with resources and activities for caregivers and children to use together. Books and materials are available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and braille.

The program is available free of charge for students who are reading below their expected level who are enrolled in voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) programs through 5th grade in public or charter schools.
