Parkland Pumpkin Patch with fun activities

Pumpkins are popular in South Florida, for decorating, eating and festive photo opportunities.

Dania Beach

A pumpkin patch with free pumpkins is offered at Oktoberfest in Dania Beach,  6 p.m. to 9 p.m. October 11, with free entry. The street festival is outside Dania Beach City Hall, 100 W. Dania Beach Boulevard. It  is pet-friendly, and free parking is available.

Deerfield Beach

Deerfield Beach Fall Festival features a pumpkin patch with photo ops and a free pumpkin while supplies last, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. October  11 at Pioneer Park, 217 NE Fifth Avenue, Deerfield Beach.

Dania Beach

Dania Beach Fall Festival includes a pumpkin patch with free pumpkins 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, October 24, with entertainment, trunk or treat and other fun. It's at Frost Park, 300 NE Second Street, Dania Beach 33004

Pompano Beach 

Pompano Boo Bash includes hayrides, performers and other festivities. A free pumpkin is offered while supplies last. The event is 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 25 with free entry. The venue is the park at 1801 NE Sixth Street, Pompano Beach. 

Pumpkin Splash, $5

Pumpkin Splash includes floating pumpkins and pumpkin decorating, magic entertainment, and balloon art. 

The event  is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 25, with an entry fee of $5 and registration online is required.

The venue is Caporella Aquatic center, 9300 NW 58th St., Tamarac.  Refreshments are offered for purchase.

Pumpkin Patches 

Parkland

Parkland Pumpkin Patch is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 18 and 19 and 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. weekdays October 20-23 with occasional extra features including a petting zoo, photo ops, inflatables, food vendors and face painting. Pumpkins will be available for purchase while supplies last including 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. October 24 during the Halloween Festival. Parkland Equestrian Center is at 8350 Ranch Road, Parkland, 954-757-4107; entry and parking are free.

Flamingo Road Nursery, Davie 

For purchasing pumpkins at Flamingo Road Nursery in Davie without participating in the festival activities, entry and parking are free.

The  Fall Festival  events are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. September 20 through November 2 at Flamingo Road Nursery, 954-476-7878, 1655 S. Flamingo Road, Davie.

Entry for the Fall Festival is $15 and usually  includes a selection of foods and activities such as tractor-pulled hayrides and pumpkin painting. Entry is free for ages 1 and younger. The festival features a pumpkin patch and scenic New England-y displays for photo opportunities.

Parkridge Pumpkin Patch

October 3 – October 30,  3:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. week days;  10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and 12:30 – 7:30 p.m. Sundays,  Parkridge Church, 600 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs

Fort Lauderdale

Pumpkins for sale and a pumpkin photo op is offered at The Wharf in Fort Lauderdale, an open-air event venue with food vendors overlooking the New River in Fort Lauderdale, 20 W. Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale. After dark, the venue is open to ages 21 and older.

The Wharf is usually open Thursdays – Sundays, and parking is about $3 an hour.
