The New Music Miami Festival (NMMF) is back with festival discussions and concerts that are free to the public, no ticket required thanks to the generosity of the Festival's sponsors. The concerts take place at 7 p.m. at The Wolfsonian-FIU, 1001 Washington Ave., Miami Beach.
The FIU School of Music celebrates its 26th year of the New Music Miami ISCM Festival, directed by FIU composer-in-residence Orlando Jacinto Garcia. The festival runs through April 19 and includes the presentation of music by composers from around the world, many of whom are present to discuss their music for FIU students and audiences. The festival has continued to expand, featuring new music concerts for acoustic and electro-acoustic instrumentations.

Feb. 22 – Cellist Jason Calloway, pianist Chen-Hui Jen and composer Jacob David Sudol performance consists of four modular compositions for cello, surround sound live electronics, and a constantly changing electronic sonic environment which sounds through a collection of metal objects that surround the audience.
March 15 – Guitarist Dieter Hennings and percussionist Paul Vallancourt perform several world premieres.
March 29 – FIU Nodus Ensemble performs music from North and South America including music by Cuban composers and Cintas Foundation winners.
April 5 – Performance by String Noise Duo, New York’s violin duo Conrad Harris and Pauline Kim Harris the premiere works by Paula Matthusen, Jacob Sudol, and Orlando Jacinto Garcia.
April 19 – Amernet String Quartet and Swiss composer Jessie Cox perform the festival's closing concert highlighting his unique brand of experimental music classified as “musical science fiction.”
