Free with RSVP: Black Movie Experience by Spady Museum, June 11-July 25

The Spady Museum is hosting an eclectic series of movies and videos that will be shown from June 11 to July 25, 2026, and the public is invited.

The Black Movie Experience (BMX) for lovers of cultural documentaries returns this summer. Snacks available for purchase. Free admission. RSVP required — Limited Space. Location: Creative Art School at Old School Square. RSVP HERE!

SCHEDULE:

  • June 11 @ 6 p.m.: Wood Hood: Reclaiming Land, Healing in Nature (2022) with talk
  • June 27 @ 2 p.m.: The Forgotten Occupation: Jim Crow Goes to Haiti (2023) with Director Q&A
  • July 9 @ 6 p.m.: Peanut Headz: Black History Toonz series with talk
  • July 25 @ 2 p.m.: Farming While Black with Director Q&A

BMX Jr., for movie-goers ages 10–14, is designed to keep young minds engaged. ‘Bite-sized' episodes, discussions, and craft activities — all under 90 minutes. Every Saturday in June and July, at 10 a.m. Free admission and snacks. Location: Spady Museum’s Williams Cottage. RSVP required — Limited Space.  RSVP HERE.
