South Florida pumpkin patches, fall festivities

In sunny South Florida, residents enjoy picking their favorite pumpkins at sites set up as “pumpkin patches” in parking lots, fields and at festivals.

Whether you’re whipping up a pie, decorating your orange orb with a funny face, or enhancing your Autumn decor, pumpkins and pumpkin patches are plentiful.

To verify supply, it’s wise to phone ahead. Keep checking back as we will be adding more events to this post!

Pumpkin patches in Miami-Dade

Miami Lakes United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Oct. 1-31, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pumpkin shipments arrive by 4 p.m. on Sept. 30, Oct. 12 and 21.
Entertainment and fun fall festivities, especially on weekends. Admission is $5 Mon.-Thurs.; $7 Fri.-Sun. and $10 on Halloween.

Miami Shores Presbyterian Church

STU First Annual Pumpkin Patch

Pick pumpkins amongst a decorative fall set up perfect for photos. Oct. 15 from 2-5 p.m. there’s a fall festival with a petting zoo, pony rides, food trucks and games.

Parkland Pumpkin Patch

9 a.m. –  5 p.m. October 22-23 and 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. October 24-27 features petting zoo, photo ops, face painting, and games. Pumpkins for purchase while supplies last.  Parkland Equestrian Center is at 8350 Ranch Road, Parkland, 954-757-4107, entry is free.

Greater Palm Beach

Pumpkin Towne, Wellington & Jupiter

Pumpkin Towne pumpkin patches in Wellington and Jupiter are open as of October 6, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., while supplies last. Entry is free. On site are a bounce house, hay bales, and photo ops. They offer a free recipe for pumpkin pie.

Spooky Safari & Pumpkin Patch

Attraction at Animal EDventure is offered Wednesdays – Sundays in October, and reservations and payment prior to your excursion are required.

Fees are $25 and free for kids younger than 2. The venue is on private property, 8545 US Highway 441, Boynton Beach.

It’s a family-friendly walking tour with a pumpkin patch and real animals, including sloths, kangaroos, fox, zebra, llamas, fox and others. Other fun includes a hay maze. Extra fees apply for interaction with some of the animals. Costume contests are included.

Family Fall Festival in Plantation is 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. October 15 at Volunteer Park. Entry is $5 per person. It’s free for toddlers younger than 2.

Volunteer Park is at 12050 W. Sunrise Boulevard, Plantation. The event features a kids fun zone, haunted house, hayride, pony rides, petting zoo, fire exhibit, pumpkin patch for pumpkin painting and photo ops, and activities. Costume contests are included. Harvest Festival at Flamingo Gardens, Davie

Deerfield Fall Festival
