With the City of Coral Gables transforming Giralda Avenue into a pedestrian-friendly street it made sense to create a monthly live music series and calling it Giralda Live.
It is conveniently held on the first Friday of the month, the same night as the decades-long running and always popular Gables Gallery Night.
Additionally, the street will be particularly colorful between May and October with two public installations dangling overhead to admire while enjoying the music.
The first installation, Cielo Tejido: A Woven Sky, will be on view through July featuring colorful, handwoven textiles crafted by women artisans from Etzatlán, Mexico an installation celebrating traditional craftsmanship and cultural exchange.
A second installation, Giralda in Bloom: A Floral Canopy, will debut in August, featuring hundreds of floral-patterned umbrellas suspended overhead.

On that first Friday, between 8 and 10 p.m., live music will come to Giralda Avenue adding to the already lively atmosphere of restaurants, bars and shops. Each month will feature a new musical act ranging from soloists to ensembles.
