Free South Florida Center for Percussive Arts Spring Showcase

Students, an ensemble and special guests will be banging drums, bongos and other percussion instruments at Dolphin Mall's VIVO outdoor entertainment space on Sunday, May 17 starting at noon during the South Florida Center for Percussive Arts Spring Showcase.

The event is free but RSVP is required.

The day kicks off at noon with individual student recitals showcasing all the students have learned at the Center and that is followed at 3 p.m. by a performance by the RhythmFUN! Percussion Ensembles.

Joining the two groups will be special guests flutist Magela Herrera and percussionist Brian Potts with a few other surprise guests.

The SFCPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating new and enhancing existing opportunities to study, perform, and enjoy music through percussion. Along with educational programs from classical to world percussion, we help make music accessible to our community through school presentations, workshops, and performances.

They have been hosting their free Jam on Percussion on Friday nights from 7-9 p.m. for decades at their space in Kendall.
