Saturday, Nov. 9:
Cutler Bay Veterans Day Breakfast: 9 am at IHOP, 18860 S. Dixie Hwy., Cutler Bay, 33157.
Sunday, Nov. 10:
Town of Miami Lakes 40th Annual Veteran’s Day Parade: 10 a.m. to noon at 6075 Miami Lakes Dr. The parade can be viewed along Ludlam Rd. from Bull Run Road to Eagles’ Nest.
Monday, Nov. 11:
Palmetto Bay Veterans Assembly & Breakfast: 7:45 a.m. at Palmer Trinity School Gymnasium, 8001SW 184 St., Palmetto Bay. Palmer Trinity students, faculty and staff honor veterans with keynote speaker Lt. Col. Nancy E. Clauss, U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion Miami. RSVP here.
Aventura Veterans Day Ceremony: 10 a.m. at Aventura Government Center, 19200 W. Country Club Dr. The ceremony includes local veterans sharing personal reflections, patriotic performances by the Aventura City of Excellence School, a World War II display, as well as participation from local veterans groups.
Pinecrest Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 am-1 pm at Veterans Wayside Park, 11111 Pinecrest Parkway. Includes an honor guard, military veterans’ presentations, musical performances and a picnic lunch. Free. 305-284-0900.
Miami Beach Veteran’s Day Parade & Picnic: Beginning at 10:30-11:30 am, watch the parade on Ocean Drive from 5th and 14th streets. The parade is followed at noon by a demonstration from the All-Veterans Parachute Team on Ocean Drive, and a wreath laying ceremony and picnic at Lummus Park, 1130 Ocean Dr. Free. 305-673-7575.
Florida State Parks: To thank all who have served and sacrificed, all Florida State Parks will grant free entry to all visitors on Nov. 11. Pack a picnic and celebrate this day with your loved ones, or take advantage of the three-day weekend by taking a camping trip. Whether your visit lasts a day or the whole weekend, find a park in your area using this Regional Map and spend time outdoors.
Doral Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The parade will begin at 10 am on 33rd street in the parking lot of Aloft & Element Miami Doral Hotels, and end at Veterans Park, 10190 NW 33 St., where the ceremony will then begin. The Ceremony will include key speakers. (305) 593-6611.
Family Salute Fun Day in the Park: 2-6 p.m. Military and first responders family salute with amusement rides, live music, obstacle course and big truck experience. Regatta Park, 3500 Pan American Dr.
Veterans Day Ceremony and Family Fun Day in the Park: Join the City of North Miami for a fun day in the park honoring veterans. Enjoy music, bounce houses for the kids, family activities and a complimentary picnic style lunch.
