Broward Veterans Day events & deals

Veterans Day includes events and deals in Broward that offer an opportunity to display appreciation for those in the armed forces.

Usually events are free.  Occasionally, reservations  may be required. Some events and deals are open to the public, and others are for veterans and military.

Veterans Day is November 11 every year and honors the veterans of all who have served in the U.S. military. The day was chosen in remembrance of Nov. 11, 1918, when an armistice was reached in World War I.

Veterans are also being honored with events in Miami-Dade County, events in Palm Beach County and a variety of free meals and other deals around the nation.

Veterans Day events in 2023 in Broward

Plantation

Plantation Walk is a plaza with shops and restaurants is featuring a Veterans Day event 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. November 11  with live entertainment, a display of vehicles and other festivities.

Hollywood

Veterans Day barbecue and festivities for Hollywood veterans and active-duty forces is 12 p.m. November 11 at TY Park, 3300 N. Park Road, Hollywood 33020.  Military ID required for free entry. RSVP at 954-921-3404, event is limited to 400 people.  Each participant is permitted 1 guest.

Sunrise

Veterans Day indoor event with speakers is 10:30 a.m. November 11 in Sunrise

Venue: Sunrise Civic Center is at 10610 W. Oakland Park Boulevard, Sunrise

Plantation

Veterans Day event is 9:30 a.m. November 11 at Veterans Park, 1776 Lauderdale West Drive. The event is offered livestreamed on Facebook.

Wilton Manors

Veterans Day event with light refreshments is 11 a.m. –  1 p.m. November 11 at Hagen Park community center.  The address is 2020 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors 33305.

Fort Lauderdale

Feeding South Florida InterMiami CF and Publix  Veterans Appreciation Luncheon is 11 a.m. November 11 in Fort Lauderdale.  The event is for military veterans and a guest, while space is available. RSVP is required online.

Tamarac

Veterans Day event 10:30 a.m. November 11 includes the National Anthem. The  Armed Forces Salute is performed by The Miamians.
