Head to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center on Tuesday, Dec. 6 and watch as the staff will be releasing one of the sea turtles back into the ocean. This turtle – known at “Peanut” – has been at the center since May 1, 2016. Over the last 7 months, the Gumbo Limbo team has nursed Peanut back to good health and now Peanut is ready to be released.

To celebrate, there will be a release gathering at Spanish River Park (on the bench near the central tunnel) on December 6 at 4:30 p.m., where Peanut will be released. Parking will be gratis at the park starting at 4 p.m. This event is free to attend.

For those not able to attend, head over to their Facebook page, as they will try to do a live broadcast. The quality of this video has been mixed in the past, so plan accordingly.
