SYNOPSIS
The Long Walk is about 100 teenage boys in a dystopian future who participate in a brutal, televised annual walking contest where they must maintain a minimum speed or be shot by soldiers. The contest continues until only one walker remains, with the survivor receiving any wish as a prize.
Directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Mark Hamill as the overseeing “Major,” the film explores themes of societal pressure and the human will to survive, inspired by King's experiences with the Vietnam War draft.
