Free events by Frost School of Music at various venues, Coral Gables

The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami is offering a panoply of live musical events featuring students and faculty for free so that everyone gets the chance to experience the future of music. Also, see and hear whats's happening with the incorporation of new technology and even AI.

From classical to jazz to world music and show tunes, here is the lineup of the next generation of musicians, both vocal and instrumental. Performances listed below are free with reservations:

An Art and Music Exhibit Featuring Stamps Ensembles
Monday, Oct. 30, 5:30 p.m.
Newman Recital Hall, Coral Gables
Jeffrey Zeigler, artistic coordinator marking 20 years since the school became the Frost School of Music, this exhibit combines photography and music to bring you an inside look.

Opening Celebration with Frost Students & Faculty
Wednesday, Nov. 1, 7:30 p.m.
Newman Recital Hall, Coral Gables
The Frost School of Music presents a musical extravaganza in the new acoustically refined Robert and Judi Prokop Newman Recital Hall overlooking Lake Osceola. Showings every 15 minutes.

Opening Gala with Frost Alumni Stars

Knight Center for Music Innovation Plaza, Coral Gables
All of the seats in the hall are sold out. But you can still enjoy the performance and enjoy the music and the center’s state-of-the-art window-casting technology.

Frost Research Showcase
Friday, Nov. 3, 5:30 p.m.
Newman Recital Hall, Coral Gables
Associate Dean Carlos Abril, director Frost School of Music departments converge to showcase the research spearheaded by faculty and students. Learn more about ground-breaking work taking place in the fields of music therapy, engineering, education, theory, and musicology.

The Best of Broadway with Frost Musical Theater Ensemble

Concert features over 8 decades of music on the Great White Way! Music by Rogers and Hammerstein, Bernstein, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Porter, Lerner and Loewe, Kern, Schwartz, Guettel, and others.  Join the audience in the Concert Hall or enjoy with your picnic blankets and lawn chairs in the Knight Center for Music Innovation Plaza for this family friendly event on WindowCast.
