The picturesque New River in Fort Lauderdale is the scene of a lively event featuring thousands of floating rubber ducks and opportunities to win exciting prizes.
Duck Fest Derby in 2023 is 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. April 1 at Esplanade Park, 400 SW 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale.
The event, which supports an organization that assists families and kids, includes fun for kids, a petting zoo, and live entertainment. The highlight of the fest is the duck derby, offering the participants who “adopt” ducks opportunities for exciting prizes, including trips.
Entry for the event is free. Rubber duck adoptions for the derby are $5 each, with funds going to KID, an organization that offers assistance to families and yp youngsters who are neglected and abused. Each duck entered is numbered to determine which “adopters” win prizes.
