Free Duck Fest Derby in Fort Lauderdale

The picturesque New River in Fort Lauderdale is the scene of a lively event featuring thousands of floating rubber ducks and opportunities to win exciting prizes.

Duck Fest Derby in 2024 is 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.  Saturday March 9 1 at Esplanade Park, 400 SW 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale.

The event, which supports organizations that assist families and kids, includes a Kids Fun Zone,  a petting zoo, and live entertainment.  The highlight of the fest is the duck derby, offering the participants who “adopt” ducks opportunities for exciting prizes, including trips.

Entry for the event is free. Rubber duck adoptions for the derby are $5 each.  Each duck entered is numbered to determine which “adopters” win prizes.

Food trucks are on site. Parking rates are usually about $3 an hour.
