Posted by: National Donut Day is the best day to “make the rounds” for a FREE donut — or “doughnut,” as some spell it. However, did you know the day honors the heroes of World War I and not just the popular pastry?
Back in 1938, the day was originally created to remember the Salvation Army Lasses, who served donuts to soldiers on the front lines in WWI. Over the years, the day has turned into a celebration of the iconic (and very popular) treat — with many donut shops giving away FREE donuts on National Donut Day.
National Donut Day is the first Friday in June. This year, the sweet day is on June 5, 2026.
All of the offers are valid at participating locations, while supplies last. Limit one per person. No purchase necessary, unless noted otherwise.
