Free community celebration in Little Havana

The Florida Immigration Coalition Votes is hosting a civic community celebration in Little Havana at Fonda Los Buenos Muchachos on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 2 to 7 p.m. The family-friendly event is free but RSVP is required.

Hoping to unite neighbors in civic engagement, the organization is hosting this afternoon block party with a whole host of festivities.

There will be live music by local folklore groups Pazyflora and Tonalxotchil, tours of the neighborhood in a traditional Colombian chiva (a brightly painted wooden bus), hands-on civic engagement activities and free food.
