Rehabilitated sea turtle release, Juno Beach

Turtle-lovers are invited to help say goodbye to rehabilitated patient “Swim Shady”, a 246 pound adult loggerhead sea turtle who is returning to the ocean. The public release will take place on the beach behind the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

  • When: Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. (space is limited, arrive no later than 9)

The Swim Shady story:

Swim Shady was rescued and admitted to Loggerhead Marinelife Center after suffering a serious boat strike. Her condition was poor and she also dealt with anemia. Through antibiotics, careful monitoring, and focused rehabilitation, her anemia has resolved and she has been cleared for release.
