BLACK HISTORY: Literature
Black History Month is about honoring the past but perhaps just as much about teaching, learning and growing its meaning for the future. Here's a daylong event to help do just that.
- What: Legacy in Motion: A multigenerational celebration of Black excellence
- When: Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Where: Rohl's Readery, 630 7th St., West Palm Beach. (New location.)
- Cost: Free

Features: Music, books, dancing, yoga, cooking, gardening, vendors, panels, and story time.
BLACK HISTORY: Art
- What: Live painting event with Highwayman artist Robert L. Lewis
- When: Wednesday, Feb. 5, with reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the event.
- Where: 1916 Historic Courtroom, Palm Beach County History Museum, 300 N. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach
- Admission: Free, donations accepted; RSVP requested.
In celebration of Black History Month, this year the Historical Society of Palm Beach County will highlight the Highwaymen artists with an exhibit and host Highwayman Robert L. Lewis for a live painting event. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the creation of vibrant Florida landscapes and learn about the rich history of the Highwaymen artists.
