Updated: Take a free ride on the Coral Gables Trolley

Transportation is a big deal, and when it's free, that's even better!

Driving and maintaining insured vehicles can be costly. Trying to navigate heavy traffic patterns can be frustrating. Finding a nearby parking space can be a time-consuming challenge like no other.

So, here's an option that can aid in cutting down on the frustration and time spent behind the wheel during urban excursions through The Gables, and help you save money, too.

Getting around Coral Gables on a budget:

Trolleys

What began in recent memory by the City of Coral Gables has now spread to other cities in Miami-Dade County. Many of the trolleys have that vintage-streetcar look and pick up passengers for free at commercial locations most frequented by commuters, such as along Ponce de Leon Boulevard. Notice the eye-catching color scheme. The advantages of riding the trolley are: They are air-conditioned, provide wifi and generally riders don’t have to wait very long.

The free Coral Gables trolley service runs Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Check out the Coral Gables trolley tracker schedule and route. For queries, email Trolley@coralgables.com or call 305-460-5070.
