Free Miami-Dade public transit for seniors

Sharing is caring!

metrorail2Miami-Dade County’s Golden Passport program provides free travel on mass transit for permanent residents aged 65 and older. Younger Social Security recipients are eligible as well.

To get the Golden Passport EASY card, you must complete this application and have a photo ID made. The senior EASY card is good for 20 years; others must renew annually with a Social Security printout proving eligibility.

Golden Passport EASY cards are available immediately if you apply at the Government Center Metrorail station, 111 NW First St., weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 786-469-5028 for more information.

Others are also eligible for free and discounted travel on Miami-Dade public transit.

It is good to know that municipal government takes care of senior citizens. Caring for seniors can have different forms. Home Caring – Sydney Office offers help with anything from a smaller package requiring minimal assistance to larger packages requiring 24-hour home care.
