Chamber Music concert at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church

Artist Juraj Kojš is best known for as an experimental and interdisciplinary artist but he is also a conservatory-trained classical pianist and his showing that side at his upcoming chamber music concert Wednesday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Coconut Grove. Tickets are $10 and $5 for students and seniors, click here to purchase.

Titled “Ceaseless Beauty,” Kojš will be joined by Scott Flavin on violin, Jody Levitz on viola, cellist Ross Harbaugh, cello and fellow pianist Jacob Mason.

Know for his neo?romantic and post?minimalist composition, this performance features a program of lyrical, expansive works inspired by the landscape and cultural memory of Kojš's native Slovakia. The pieces are written for piano, strings, and piano quartet featuring music from the album Ceaseless Beauty, as well as the premiere of a new piano quartet, Stretto.

The music will be accompanied by video works by the artist Dimitry Saïd Chamy, drawing on images and footage of Slovakia by Mariana Kojšová. The concert is presented with the support of the Miami Salon Group and FETA Foundation.
