Black arts troupe offers vibrant performances & events for Florida Emancipation Day & Juneteenth

Parties, performances and workshops are featured in South Florida to reflect historical references to freedom from slavery. 

Hued Songs is a black arts troupe that is participating in events in Dade & Broward for Florida Emancipation Day and Juneteenth, and entry is free. 

Hued Songs performances and events in 2026 in Broward and Dade include 

Pompano Beach

Florida Emancipation Day party is 4:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. May 23 and entry is free. Florida Emancipation Day reflects the historical abolishment of slavery in Florida.

Juneteenth workshop 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. June 6 at the African-American Research Library, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale 33311. RSVP for reservations. At the workshop, participants work on a mixed-media Freedom Flag

Juneteenth Experience featuring vibrant performances 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. June 19 at North Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Avenue 33141
