Volunteer to pick up beach debris for Earth Day in Broward

Pull out your favorite flip flops. If you're interested in volunteering to protect the ocean from plastic discards and other litter, some events in Broward include pick-up projects at the beach. 

Earth Day and other Earth-friendly events in 2026 that include tidying up beaches include

Hollywood

10 a.m. – 1 p.m. March 28 at Marine Environmental Education (MEEC), 4414 N. Surf Road, Hollywood 33019.  The event includes games, food trucks and DJ entertainment. The event is free. Free parking for the event is offered at North Beach Park, 3601 North Ocean Drive, Hollywood 33019.

Dania Beach 

Dania Beach is offering a beach litter pick-up event 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. April 20 at Ocean Park Beach,  Dania Beach Pier, 300 N. Beach Road, Dania. Volunteers receive free parking, T-shirts, and refreshments. 

Entertainment is included in the festivities.
